The price includes the vapor sampler, return shipping, laboratory analysis, and a final report detailing the formaldehyde concentration along with any other aldehydes detected. If high levels are detected, we provide detailed suggestions to help lower these levels.
We use NIOSH Method 2018 to measure formaldehyde and related aldehydes (see full list here). This method provides the most accurate measurements available today.
To use the sampler, place it in a central location and expose it for 24 hours. Please note that all aldehyde samplers are sensitive to heat, so we recommend storing and shipping them refrigerated, especially during the summer months. Exposure to high temperatures can cause decomposition of the sampling media, leading to background signals that may result in false positives.
Our samplers include a built-in media blank to help measure potential decomposition. This allows us to determine if degradation has occurred and apply corrections to our analysis. We are actively working on improving this aspect, so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, please avoid storing or transporting samplers in hot environments, such as inside a car during summer.
