Our mold-specific VOC test harnesses cutting-edge science to deliver unmatched accuracy in detecting mold-related microbial activity. Built upon the robust m-VOC database by Robert Preissner and colleagues (Nucleic Acids Research, 2023), our test targets precise biomarkers unique to mold metabolism. By leveraging ultra-sensitive Single Ion Monitoring (SIM) via GC-MS analysis, we achieve superior sensitivity, uncovering low-level mold presence that traditional methods typically overlook. VOCs can travel through walls more easily than mold spores, so we can detect active mold infections more readily than active mold tests. Offering versatile sampling options, our system accommodates both passive badge-style samplers (SKC Ultra sampler, 690 series,) ideal for long-term indoor air quality monitoring, and active air collection using sorbent tubes packed with Tenax TA (please contact us for options). Easy integration with existing sampling protocols makes our method perfect for industrial hygiene assessments, indoor air quality (IAQ) inspections, and insurance evaluations. The list of m-VOC's that we currently detect can be found below.
